This visible image from NASA's Aqua satellite taken today at 11:10 UTC (6:10 a.m. EST) by the MODIS instrument aboard shows the storm riding the west coast of Madagascar. It is about 230 nautical miles west-southwest of Antananativo, Madagascar, near 20. 7 south and 43.3 east. The strongest thunderstorms are over the northeast quadrant, and there is weak fragmented curved banding of thunderstorms wrapping into the weak low-level center. System 91S is dealing with moderate vertical wind shear (20-30 knots), but half over the warm waters of the Mozambique Channel (water temps are as warm as 29C/84.2F.
