SA National Weather and Disaster Observations: 10 December 2014 04h00 SAST - MSBWX

WATCHES: 1. Localised flooding is expected in Gauteng and the north- eastern parts of the Free State. 2. Heavy rain is possible over the western parts of Kwazulu-Natal.

MSBWX National Severe Weather Observations:  

Yesterday severe weather was observed in parts of the Eastern Cape and Gauteng  Heavy rain, hail, flash flooding and a tornado in the Bethlehem area were observed.  No reports of serious damage thus far. MSBWX General Weather Observations: Cool, warm to hot conditions expected today over parts of SA. Thunderstorms can be expected in parts of  Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, North West, Northern Cape, Free State, Eastern Cape and Kwazulu Natal.  Light rain is expected in parts of the Western Cape along the Southern Cape coast this morning.

MSBWX National Disaster Observations: Dense smoke clouds were observed yesterday afternoon at 16h15 to the west of Mossel Bay.  It would appear that the fire/s was/were raging in the Albertinia area.  No further reports were received and at 18h00 no further smoke was visible over Mossel Bay.
