SAWS SEVERE WEATHER ALERTS:  

SAWS WARNINGS: --------- 1. A gale force westerly to south - westerly winds of 62km/h are expected between Port Alfred and Maputo, subsiding from the west in the afternoon. 2. High seas with wave heights from 6 to 7m are expected between Port Alfred and Maputo, subsiding we st of Port St. Johns in the afternoon.

SAWS WATCHES: -------- Nil.

SAWS SPECIAL WEATHER ADVISORIES: --------------------------- 1. Very cold conditions are expected in most parts of the Eastern Cape. The public and small stock farmers are advised to take the necessary precautions

MSBWX National Severe Weather Observations:   As predicted there was a significant reduction in the amount of fires detected yesterday.   405 Fires detected over the past 24 hours in South Africa.  Please contact your nearest fire fighting unit, Working on Fire or Local Fire Fighting Service when fires are observed.  The earlier a fire is detected to better the chances of extinguishing the fire.

MSBWX General Weather Observations:  Very Cold, Light Rain, Gale Force Winds,  Fires  and Rough Seas  observed this morning.  Real Winter's day expected today in all provinces but conditions will start to improve by tomorrow in some provinces.  Early spring weather can be expected by Thursday next week over the country.
