National Severe Weather Observations:   Yesterday was one of the worst veld fire days this year.  976 Fires detected over the past 24 hours in South Africa. Today will hopefully see a great reduction in the amount of fires detected.  Please contact your nearest fire fighting unit, Working on Fire or Local Fire Fighting Service when fires are observed.  The earlier a fire is detected to better the chances of extinguishing the fire.

General Weather Observations:    Short and sweet this morning.  Cold, Rainy,  Snowfalls, Gale Force Winds,  Fires, Road closures due to Snow and Rough Seas observation reports received.  You pick an area today where there is no winter weather and tell us about your warm paradise.  It is still winter and we should expect wintery conditions in many areas of the country.

 National Disaster Observations:  None
