Reports have been coming in of snowfalls observed in Kwazulu Natal and the Drakensberg Mountains today. Do not be surprised if further snowfalls occur this evening in areas of Kwazulu Natal and the Drakensberg Mountains. Reports were also received of sleet and temperatures plummeted to -15 Deg/C in areas. It is currently very cold in many parts of the country and the cold conditions is expected to only dissipate by Thursday. An upper air trough were situated over the Southern Cape and just offshore of Mossel Bay. Huge towering clouds was visible over the ocean to the South of Mossel Bay via satellite images and through real time weather observation. Another cold evening is expected in many areas tonight. The cold weather is forthcoming from a cold front which moved in over the country on the 4 July 2014. Be on the lookout for sleet and ice on roads. Road conditions will be treacherous in many areas where temperatures plummets below 0 Deg/C this evening and in the next few days. Finally: Most of the country is looking at daytime temperatures in the low teens. Naturally, the night-time temperatures will stay low and in many areas below 0 Deg/C with the absence of cloud later in the week.
