Rika Swart writes: We were on or way back from Fortuna Resort just south-east of Heidelberg on Saturday afternoon 2014/03/08 at 4pm, when we spotted this.
We were travelling on the R23 Balfour-Standerton road towards the N3 when my husband noticed the tornado about 5km from the off-ramp, just on the other side of the N3.
We pulled off to the side of the road and watched it for about 5 min and then it dissipated.
