One person has been killed and three others injured when they were
struck by lightening at a camp site near Tierpoort dam, Bloemfontein
late last night.
ER24 paramedics responded to the campsite to find the four young
adults lying on the ground. Upon their assessment, paramedics discovered
one of the patients had been fatally wounded while the other three had
sustained injuries ranging from moderate to critical, including severe
burns.
Paramedics immediately began their treatment of the patients, placing
them on spineboards before transporting two patients to nearby hospital
for further treatment.
Other medical services transported the remainder of the patients.
Local authorities were on scene for investigations.
