Bruce Tennant: March 16 7:20 pm local time Moonrise over Santiago Peak as seen from Alamitos Bay, Long Beach, California

Jv Noriega: Full Moon rising tonight, March 16 2014, 99.84% illumination, in Manila.

I hope you got to see last night’s full moon. But if your skies were cloudy, you can get some awesome looks at the March full moon in these photos by EarthSky friends from places all around the world.

The moon turned full Sunday, March 16, at 17:08 UTC, or 12:08 p.m. Central Daylight Time. In the Northern Hemisphere, we often call this full moon the Sap Moon, Crow Moon, Worm Moon or Lenten Moon.

For the Southern Hemisphere, this March full moon is the Harvest Moon – the closest full moon to the autumn equinox. Thank you so much to all our friends for sending in your pics, and sharing them on Facebook and Google+!
