I read the opinion of people on other social media that the current tropical storms in the South Indian Ocean will definitely not impact South African weather. The word definitely is used. Now there is one thing I learned about tropical storms, NEVER EVER underestimate a tropical storm. Tropical storms has a will of there own. They change direction, intensify and dissipate in a matter of hours. I would be hesitant to make unsupported statements about tropical storms or cyclones. Who still remember the three cyclones that impacted South African weather in 2012. TC - Irna March 2012, TC - Funso January 2012 and TC -Dando January 2012. Extensive damage and drownings occurred as a result of flooding and people killed when their houses collapsed. The Lowveld, Mpumalanga and Kwazulu Natal were impacted. Many people today still think  that tropical cyclones has no impact on South African weather. NOT TRUE!  I keep an eye on every single tropical storm in the South Indian Ocean regardless of what predictions say. I learned from past experience that tropical storms are no ordinary storms. We should keep a close eye on any tropical storm close to South African borders.  We need to get the warning out early to the public in the event that South Africa will be effected by a Tropical Storm or Cyclone.
