Deon Truter, NSRI Plettenberg Bay station commander, said:
"At 15h44 (Monday, 23rd September) NSRI Plettenberg Bay volunteer sea rescue duty crew were activated following reports of a man on a boogie board being swept out to sea by rip currents at Lookout Beach.
"Our NSRI Plettenberg Bay volunteer sea rescue duty crew launched our sea rescue craft Airlink Rescuer and NSRI rescue swimmers responded directly to the scene.
"On arrival on-scene we found that a local surfer had successfully rescued the 46 year old Cape Town man who was not injured and no further assistance was required."
