MSBWX General Weather Observations: Cool, warm to hot conditions expected today over parts of SA. Isolated to scattered afternoon showers and thundershowers can be expected in parts of Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Free State, North West, Limpopo, Eastern Cape and Kwazulu Natal Provinces. Light rain expected in parts of the Western Cape. Several recent forecast model show an intense cutoff-low possibly developing off the southern/eastern coast during Monday 29th September 2014. There is still a great deal of uncertainty as to the timing, position and amount of rainfall, but this event need to be observed as from today.

NSRI National Warnings: The NSRI issued a warning to the public about the effects of the new moon spring tide, as they expect stronger than normal rip currents.
NSRI
spokesperson, Graig Lambinon, says the spring tide peaked on Wednesday
and is expected to last until the end of the weekend. Lambinon says this causes a higher than normal high tide and a lower
than normal low tide and hence stronger than normal rip currents. This warning is affecting the entire coastline of SA.
