WARNINGS: Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over North - West Province, Free State, eastern Northern Cape and north - eastern interior of the Eastern Cape Provinces

MSBWX National Severe Weather Observations: 114 Fires detected over the past 24 hours in South Africa. Please contact your nearest fire fighting unit, Working on Fire or Local Fire Fighting Service when fires are observed. The earlier a fire is detected to better the chances of extinguishing the fire.

MSBWX General Weather Observations: Cool, cold,  warm to hot conditions expected today over parts of SA. Isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers can be expected in parts of Mpumalanga, North West, Free State, Eastern Cape and Kwazulu Natal Provinces.  A weak cold front has moved in over the Western Cape. This will produce light rain ( 1 - 15mm) along the Southern Cape Coast and a drop in temperature is expected. Light snow is forecast for parts of the Western Cape, including the high mountains in the southern Cape.
