MSBWX National Severe Weather Observations:  Was yesterday the worst " Veld Fire-Day" ever in South Africa ? 1013 Fires detected over the past 24 hours in South Africa. This is the highest total of fires I have ever noticed in one day in South Africa.  Please contact your nearest fire fighting unit, Working on Fire or Local Fire Fighting Service when fires are observed.  The earlier a fire is detected to better the chances of extinguishing the fire.

MSBWX General Weather Observations: An intense cold front system is still effecting the weather over parts of South Africa.  Gale force winds, strong to gale force interior winds, light rain,  cold to cool conditions,  runaway veld fires, possible wind damage and rough seas can be expected. Hot to very hot conditions can be expected in the lowveld and Limpopo Valley.  Isolated thunderstorms can be expected in the eastern parts of the Northern Cape.  Drizzle to light rain expected in Mpumalanga, Western Cape, Limpopo, Eastern Cape and Kwazulu Natal.  Strong to Gale Force winds still expected to blow over parts of the interior and along the Southern and Eastern Cape coast.

MSBWX National Disaster Observations: None
