The risk of veld fires is classified as very dangerous in parts of the Northern-, Western-, Eastern Cape and Southern Free State Provinces.  Current observations indicate that the veld are very dry in these areas and that strong to gale force winds are forecast for these areas. These conditions could lead to runaway veld fires.  Fires detected over the past 24 hours in South Africa : 266
