SA National Severe Weather Observations: 16 July 2014 04h00 SAST - MSBWX

The risk of veld fires increase in the next few days as the fire danger is classified as very dangerous in parts of the Northern-, Western-, Eastern Cape and Southern Free State Provinces.  Current observations indicate that the veld are very dry in these areas and that strong to gale force winds are forecast for these areas as from today. These conditions could lead to runaway veld fires.

Please report any veld fires to your nearest Fire Fighting Unit, Fire Station or Working on Fire.  MSBWX advise that people should refrain from making open fires during these conditions.
