Approaching Cold Front: Western- and Southern Cape (18 - 20 June 2014)

Another cold front is approaching the Western Cape, which is due to make landfall later today.


Light to moderate rain (5 - 15 mm)  is expected as depicted by the charts underneath.




Near gale force wind (40 - 50 km/h WSW) can be expected in the coastal areas.


Snow is expected on the high mountains of the Western Cape and Southern Cape where freezing level is expected to drop to 1200 meters in areas.



 Cold weather is expected behind this front.
