Update: Cold front and cut-off low could result in unseasonal weather for parts of the Western- and Southern Cape (4 - 9 January 2014)

The latest prediction charts are indicating that the current rainy conditions are busy moving offshore.  The following two images reflect this clearly.  However heavy rain can still be expected in areas of the Western Cape.  We are still far from being out of the woods.  Rivers are in flood and this can still upset the apple cart.  Flooding continues in areas therefore we still need to be on high alert for rising water levels.

I am still of the opinion that rain can be expected in parts of the Western Cape up to the 11 January 2014.
The following prediction charts reflect the outlook for precipitation over parts of South Africa for the next 72 hours.
